Camping Holidays

Last week we went on a camping holiday. We went up to Kipabiskua Regoinal Park. Rick used to go there all the time as a kid. So we thought it would be a great lake to go to to see where he has some memories. We stopped at a couple cabins while we were there...one was the old family cabin-which is now his aunt and cousin's cabin. And then we stopped at a cabin that belongs to friends of his family. All in all, we had a really great time. Definitely have some memories from this trip, from almost capsizing the boat, and having a squirrel jump on Rick's leg. I don't feel like going into too many details today about those stories...sorry... :) We had a little bit of rain, but where our campsite was, it was very sheltered, so we didn't get very wet. Rick changed a strangers tire on our way out of the campground.

We stopped at his Aunt and Unlce's farm for a visit on our way home. Stopped in Melfort at another Uncle's house, and at his Grandpa's house. Went for supper with his cousin and his cousin's girlfriend. We stopped by the flower shop and got some flowers to put down on Rick's grandma's grave. It happend to be her birthday that day as well. Then we drove home missing most of a storm, but the sky around us was AMAZING....(see picture below). Anyways, that sums up our camping trip. Enjoy the pictures :)

I love my Baby!

Kaylee was never interested in playing with her Doll. One of the dolls that we have made crying noises, and it scared her so badly that she refused to play with anything doll related. All that changed when she got some new accessories for her other doll, and I took out the little sound box from the one doll to make her feel better about it.

My mom made her an entire set of clothes just for her doll. Not only that, she got a little diaper bag full of accessories to assist the clothes. Now, both Kaylee and MacKenzie play with the dolls, and their doll furniture set they got for Christmas a couple christmas' ago.

Kaylee takes her doll and diaper bag almost every where she goes. And she finally pushes a doll in her doll stroller. Before, she used to only push other toys. Here are a few pictures of all the stuff my mom made, as well, as Kaylee enjoying her doll.

The entire set of clothes

The little diapers (real diapers lose their stickyness after awhile...these ones just have velcro)
A little quilt
Jammies
LOL, I love and hate this material. Mom used some of the scrap material she had in her box. It was material she used for the cushions for our old tent trailer. But, I love the outfit..and the little pocket on the pants

This is Kaylee's absoulte favorite outfit. Its a little coat, toque and mitts, and scarf. It doesn't suprise me its her favorite as it is fleece.
A little dress with underpants
Mom crocheted this bonnet and sweater
and the blanket to match...and I just love the pattern on it
This was all the accessories in the Diaper Bag. There may be a few pieces missing as she's played with it quite a few times already

New Desk!!

Rick and I have been wanting a new desk now for quite some time. When we first started searching for desks, we could never decide because the ones we wanted were too big for the room we were putting it in.

Today, Rick went to Canadian Tire to get a few things, and then he decided to head off to the auction for a bit...its his usual saturday pastime in the mornings. Anyways, he seen a desk there. It just happened to be the one I particularly wanted from Costco. I was so excited when Rick phoned me and told me it was there. The desk is originally $400.00 at Costco, and the cheapest we ever seen was $300 with a coupon. Since I didn't think it would fit well in our play room/computer room, we decided not to get it. But Rick was able to get it for $200 brand new just out of the box from the auction today. SO EXCITED!!! and it was already put together for us.

I spent all afternoon cleaning out the room and re-organizing what toys were going to stay upstairs in that room with the desk. The desk takes up half of the room, but there is still some room for the girls to play. Here are a few pics of our newest purchase :)

This is the old desk (notice the door on the left side)
This is the new desk
It goes the entire length of the room, right up to the closet, and I am still able to open the closet door. and the table that is on the right side of the drawers is moveable, and turns to make the desk a U-shape. But this works for now.

Beside the printer is where you are going to see my Cricut machine soon to be set up, and a whole table for me to scrapbook at :) SO EXCITED!!!!

We had to take the door off so it would fit...oh well...never used it anyways. And there is still lots of room to walk into the room too..I was suprised, I didn't think there would be, but I'm happy with it
This is a picture off of the Costco website as to how it would look in the U-shape. And the drawers, as well as the cupboards above the drawers cane be changed around to be on either side of the desk.

Cricut Machine

One of my new favorite things.... the Home Accents Cricut cartridge. I bought this at Walmart the other day....$49.99 such an AWESOME deal. SOOO much cheaper than the ones at Michaels...which the last time I checked, they were $120.00 regular price. Walmart of course doesn't carry all of the selection that Michaels does...but they do carry about 10-12 that I seen. You will have to click on the picture to see closer what this all makes for shapes...if not, check their website to see. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE it... :)

Pet Birds

So this weekend it had rained, and the wind was quite strong ... During that wind, some baby crows fell out of a nest from the top of one of our pine trees. We first noticed it outside in the front, and of course the kids were very interested in it. Since we have a lot of kids in our section, I thought it would be best to move the baby bird to the back yard for the kids safety. The parent crows are very protective of their young (and very annoying too I might add...lol). One of the two birds was learning how to fly today, and as you can see by the pictures, the baby crow just isnt ready yet. Its neat to watch the parent crows feed their baby right in our back yard though. We haven't decided what we are going to do with this bird yet, as it is too little to let out of the yard for the kids safety. And since the parents are still feeding it, we just don't know what to do. I've phoned all over the place seeing if someone will come take these birds, but no one wants them. Not the forestry farm, wild life hotline, spca, animal control....no one. And believe me, I have phoned everywhere, lol. And, I am not the type of person to pack up that little birdie and put him in a box in the trash... as I am pretty sure the parent crows will find it there....I don't want it to suffer either. Here are a few pics of our "pet bird" Enjoy!

The one on the fence is the older baby bird (a fledgeling? I think is what they are called) and it learned how to fly today. But it was stuck on the fence all day deciding what to do.

This is the parent bird watching and crowing as its baby learned how to fly

The Baby bird sitting on my deck

Wanting to come in the house...it sat there for the better part of the day too, but thankfully the girls did not let it in.

Grass

We have a very tiny backyard, but this is what our grass looked like last summer. There was barely any grass, and in the areas you can't see, moss grew. This year, we got to re-sod our back yard, and this is what it looks like today. All the bright yellow spots are the sun, and there are a few spots at the back of the fence where you can see a little brown, but other than that...its growing very well. Rick is taking awesome care of it!! Its even had a few cuts already. You can barely even see the lines where the sod got joined.
