Preschool and a Birthday Party

On Sunday, we had a birthday supper for Rick's Dad. Kim and Chris and Aidan, Carla, and Decoy all came for supper. We enjoyed watching the football game for the afternoon. And for supper, we deep fried a turkey, and had salad, peas and carrots, and suffed baked potatoes, and dressing. It kind of felt like Thanksgiving...but it was awesome to have turkey. And then of course we had a DQ birthday cake. The girls and Aidan were so excited to get up on his knee and help him blow out his candles and sing Happy Birthday to him. MacKenzie and Kaylee were SO excited to be having a birthday party for Grandpa, they got out the cars tablecloth, and they had to blow up a bunch of balloons. They wanted to decorate with streamers and all too...but we never did that. MacKenzie even HAD to wear a dress. It wouldn't be right if she didn't cause it was a party you know...lol. Thats what she tells me.
Yesterday, MacKenzie had her first day of Preschool. She wasn't really excited until the day/and the night before. On Sunday night, we got out her backpack, and packed it all up with some extra clothes, shoes, decorated her little gingerbread girl for the teacher. We packed a snack, that she picked out all herself. Then we decided which clothes she wanted to wear. All that got her really excited.
When she woke up yesterday morning, she woke up with a smile, and asked if she had enough sleeps yet so she could go.
Rick and I never stayed with her as she was ok with everything. It was nice to have Rick be able to be a part of taking her to her first day of Preschool. As a stay at home mom, I feel a little guilty that I get to be there for most of their firsts. MacKenzie really enjoyed it too. And Rick definitely took advantage of every moment. Walking her up to the door, putting her indoor shoes on, and her name tag. He is such an awesome Dad :)
As you can see MacKenzie was so excited for her first day...you couldn't wipe the smile off of her face.

We took some pics by the tree

Her Princess backpack that she picked out herself (no suprise there...lol) but I forgot a picture of the lunch box...which is also princess as well.

Daddy walking her in

Got the name tag on

Coloring a picture for the teacher

And we can't forget about Kaylee ...need to have a few pictures of her...especially in her "purple fleefies" as she calls them.

Nap Time

Ever since Kaylee got a bigger bed, she has been begging us to have Aidan for a sleepover. She set aside her pink pillow for Aidan (not sure why this particular pillow). She leaves this pillow on her bed, and I'm not allowed to touch it, or move it, because its just for Aidan to use for his sleepover....this is what she tells me. I'm only allowed to move it to make her bed, but I have to put it right back.

So today, Rick seen Kim and Chris and Aidan while him and Kaylee were out, and decided to bring Aidan home for a nap. Kaylee and Aidan were SOOOO excited, as soon as I said it was quiet time, they both RAN...yes Ran up stairs to bed. By the time I got up there, they were both covered up with a blanket ready for a nap. So I tucked them in and closed the door. They played for a little while, and when I went to check on them... this is what I found...

Both of them sound asleep, and Kaylee will be so happy Aidan used her pillow. I was patiently waiting for them to fall asleep just so I could get this picture. And I did, and I'm happy...can't wait to scrapbook it :)

I've never seen two kids that excited for a nap before....makes me laugh...but love every minute of it :)

Busy Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. On Thursday, Aidan came for a sleepover. I had to work that night, so Rick had to put all 3 kids to bed. He had a little trouble, as Aidan wanted to sleep in Kaylee's bed with her. Kaylee has a toddler size bed, so they don't fit really well to sleep. But Rick decided to let Aidan sleep in Kaylee's bed with her, and to my suprise, they actually fell asleep squished in that little bed. I wish he would have taken a picture, cause it would have been so cute. Rick moved Aidan onto his own bed after he fell asleep. Aidan slept in Kaylee's room. On Friday morning, I woke up at 6:00 am to two little people giggling away. Aidan and Kaylee were awake and playing in her room. I don't usually like to wake up that early in the morning, but I couldn't help having a huge smile on my face listening to the two of them giggle and play. It brought back so many memories from when I was little and had sleepovers. Needless to say, we had a huge nap friday afternoon.

Friday night, Kaylee went for a sleepover at Kim and Chris'. MacKenzie went for a sleepover at Rick's Mom's house. When Rick was done work, we started working on our back yard. When we first moved in, we had really tall weeds. Our neighbors cut the grass for us, but never picked it up. So the wet grass sat there over winter (cause we moved in the late fall) which caused the grass to pretty much die. Last year, we requested to get our yard redone, and it never happened. So this year, we actually got it done. We had to haul dirt, and lay the sod. It only took about 3 hours to get it all done from start to finish. And now, it looks great. Rick added some of his decor touches out there, and I can't wait till it starts to really grow so we can enjoy it. It looks so soft and fluffy. I'll post some pictures in a day or two of what it looked like before, and after. I didn't take any before pics, but there are a few pics of the girls in the back yard where you can see how it looked.

So Saturday, Rick worked, and we had community cleanup where we live. I helped lay sod in another person's yard. After lunch, we got the girls back, went for supper at the community center, and then Heather came to babysit. Rick and I went out to Alley Cats and watched the UFC fight.

This morning, I dropped the girls off at my Mom's, and her and my sister took the girls to see Walking with the Dinosaurs. The girls just loved it!! MacKenzie has always loved dinosaurs, and has several of them. So I can almost imagine what it would have been like for her to see the show. Kaylee even enjoyed it, even though she isn't as into the dinosaurs as MacKenzie is. It just got at little loud at the end of the show for Kaylee. MacKenzie's favorite dinosaur was the T-rex.

While the girls we out this afternoon, Rick finished up a few things in the yard, and cleaned out the storage room. I had a few things to do, and then I pulled out my scrapbooking stuff and created this:

I started an album for MacKenzie a long time ago, and I was never happy with my first pages I created. So, I am starting at the beginning and redoing her album. This page is finished except for some journaling about what was happening in this picture. I was in labour, contractions were about 1-2 minutes apart. I needed to get an IV put in, so they were going to get the supplies they needed for that. Rick didn't look too happy in this pictures, because he isn't to fond of needles, not even for getting an IV. This pic was taken about 230-300 pm, on the day that MacKenzie was born.

Most of my hospital pictures with MacKenzie have so much blue and grey in them. And Blue is usually a boy's type of color, so I'm hoping with the next few pages I do, I can add some flowers or something to make it a little bit girly with all the blue.

A fun afternoon outside...before it got cold and snowed

I took the kids outside to play this afternoon. I've been testing out a few different settings on my camera, and I had the urge to take some pics this afternoon. The kids could barely pull themselves away from their bikes, as they haven't got off them for very long since they came out of the shed...lol. But the girls co-operated very well, posed quickly for a few shots, and off they went. I think its getting easier taking pictures of them, as they know if they just do it, we can get it over with, and they can go play again...lol. Here are a few shots I took this afternoon. Enjoy!!

This pic is my favorite of Kaylee...her eyes are SO blue.

MacKenzie just wouldn't give me a nice smile, no matter how hard I begged for one...lol. But I still think its a cute face!! I think it was the wind that was bothering her, as it was coming right at her face. And Aidan...lol, this was the only picture I got of him by the tree cause he just wouldn't get off his bike...lol.
Kaylee looks so much like 'Bubbles' with her helmet and glasses on. But so darn cute!!
This was the 'excuse me, your in my way' picture....lol

This picture....Kaylee wasn't going fast enough, so MacKenzie tried to take her on the inside..lol
I just can't help but smile at this one...hehe

Need a good LAUGH!!

Aidan was over to play this afternoon. After a short while of playing outside and riding bikes, the kids wanted to come inside and have a drink and a snack. When the girls get together with Aidan, they love to entertain him, as he loves to entertain them, and so they definitely feed off of each other's energy. While they were having their snack, they started to make faces at each other, which got them to giggling...lol. I thought this was too funny to not capture on camera, as they all have such cute and unique laughs. I played these videos on the computer for them to watch, and as they watched themselves giggle, they started laughing at themselves...and I was laughing so hard with them I was almost crying. Enjoy!!! and have a good laugh with them!!

Easter Celebrations

We had Easter supper with Rick's Mom, Kim, Chris, and Aidan, and Michael on Saturday. The Easter Bunny made an early stop at Rick's Mom's and hid eggs throughout the house, and in the back yard. MacKenzie was looking so forward to hunting the eggs outside. Our back yard is to small to do that in, and the front is just to public, so THANK YOU "Easter Bunny" for doing that for them. The kids had a blast looking for the eggs outside. They enjoyed even more eating the chocolate inside the eggs!! We had a great meal, and some great visiting after supper.
MacKenzie's new favorite shirt...she won't let me put it in the washing maching yet, cause that would mean she would have to take it off...lol
Grandma letting the kids outside to hunt eggs
Still had to climb over a little bit of snow, but that didn't stop them

Kaylee's 3rd Birthday

We had Kaylee's 3rd Birthday Party yesterday. What a fun day we had!! I didn't plan much, just some snacks, gifts and cake. On top of all that, we also had a little pool tournament on our new pool table. Thanks Chris for that great idea!! My dad ended up winning the whole thing. He is very good at pool. So good infact that when I played him, I only got 3 shots, and one of those shots was me breaking the balls, lol. But I still had fun. I only invited family for Kaylee's party, so playing pool was nice entertainment for the adults, as Aidan was the only other kid that came. Next year Kaylee will get a big party like MacKenzie's was this year.

So anyways, Kaylee wanted to have a Cars themed party, so thats what we had. She looks so pretty in a dress and with her hair curled, but yet she loves "boys" toys. Her favorite gifts I'd have to say are the Polly Pocket race track, her semi truck that she can load her cars in, and her Diego bike that makes noise. Kaylee had a lot of fun at her party. Her facial expressions and reactions to gifts were hilarious. And every gift she had to share with her Uncle Michael. She took everything to him to open and get ready..lol

Here are a few (lots) of pictures from her day...Enjoy!!

Love this pictures of MacKenzie and her Grandma Marg
She loved her "fee fee" (fleecy) outfit and jammies...lol. She even had to cuddle them a little when she opened them.

MacKenzie's 4th Birthday >> Princess Party

We had MacKenzie's 4th Birthday party today at the community center where we live. We made a crown craft, opened gifts, had cake, played a few games and otherwise enjoyed the company of each other. Everything went very well. The kids listened great, and I am sure had a fun time. I made MacKenzie's birthday cake this year, with the help of my mom....THANKS MOM... she put on almost all of the icing and smoothed it out nicely for me to help decorate. I baked it though...lol. I got the idea from the internet. I took two different cakes, and combined the ideas of them to get Mack's cake. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Betty Crocker helped with the icing though...I hate making my own, so we bought the white whipped icing, and just added food coloring. I almost hated cutting it. Anyways here are a few pictures from our FUN afternoon....ENJOY...
The Castle Cake

All set up and ready to go
Even Cooper wore a birthday hat
