Happy Birthday to ME!!!
So, today is my birthday. I am now 24. Now, some people think that that is still so young. But I am having such trouble grasping this fact. I'm not saying I am old. But when I was younger, 23 was my ideal age. I didn't accomplish much during the time I was 23; however I was pregnant with, and gave birth to Kaylee.
I always thought that 23 was supposed to be the end of my partying years, and 24 was the time to start growing up. That plan never happened. I stopped my partying when I got pregnant with MacKenzie. I feel like I never got to finish my partying years that I had planned, however, I would never change the life God put in my path. Instead of wasting my time not remembering the good times I was having, I have enjoyed the past few years of becoming a mother, and a fiance to a pretty wonderful guy. And look forward to every day that will come. I use to always say, its more entertaining to watch the girls grow up than watching some drunk person make a fool of themselves. And I still believe that to be true. I don't miss the partying scene one bit...contrary to what some people may think.
So for my birthday, we went to a movie. We went and seen "Just My Luck". Not the greatest movie..definitely a chick flick. But more of a teenage chick flick. But I love Lindsay Lohan as an actress, so that made me choose that movie. And we went and seen it in the cheap theater..so its not like we wasted too much money on the movie. We really wanted to see the movie "Click". But we were too late, and it had already started. It was just so great to go on a date with Rick. Its so hard to find the time to date, especially with the girls, and once they do go to bed, I feel like crawling into bed too. I am a pretty good multi tasker, but its still so difficult to have kids, a house, and a man too. Then you add friends and more family on top of that, and all the endless fun a person can have, and its hard to balance all those things, and still find time for yourself.
Anyone have any ideas on how to make things a little easier, and a little more fun?

hearing you and Rick going on a date made me smile..thats awsome you guys need to do that at least twice a monnth and just plan for that...then you always have it booked as well as someone to watch the girls and you have a date to look forward too!!! oh i had to laugh at the fact of Rick going to see a chick flick, i picture him rolling his eyes hahaha ...or i could be wrong maybe he loved it hahaha
Well, Rick never had a choice for which movie to go see. He actually watches a lot of chick flicks with me. However, if we are at home, he always falls asleep halfway through. Last night, I made sure to take him to the 7:00 movie so I knew for sure he'd still be awake at the end of it. He thought the movie wasn't too bad. I think I was more bored than he was..lol. Yah, it was great going on a date. I wish he would want to go out more often, but most of the time, he is just as tired as I am, and we just never feel like it.
Happy Birthday Angie!!!!
24! you're still a baby!! haha...way to go for the younger woman Rick!
as for making your life easier & more fun - i'll be checking back to see what advice is left...because i am horrible at making life easier! though i will say that i am a TOTAL list person...i have to have a list for everything - and i even have this program on my computer, where i can put virtual sticky notes on my desktop, so everytime i log on - i can see what i have to do, who i have to call/e-mail etc...i found that helpful.
i also am going to try to "clean up" every nite before bed...way easier said than done...but i want to make it a routine for Kamryn to help pick up her toys (something she actually enjoy) and maybe i'll try to always have clean counters before bed too...ya, good luck right?
i'm glad you went on a date - that really should be a priority for all of us folks with kids - so that it doesn't always end up being about the kids!
Rod & I should join you one nite & go see Click!! oh ya, i picked up the schedule for Rick's races, so we'll be coming out to quite a few of them, since the track is so close to us now! yippeee!
ok, i should get back to work!
Good luck in your quest for organization & fun-filled days!
and Happy B'day again!!!!!!!!
Well happy b-day Angie! I'm glad you guys went on a date-Jared and I make sure we do that fairly often too! It's good to keep your relationship healthy! We saw Just my luck too, I thought it was cute! Well anyway I'm glad you had a good b-day!
Happy Birthday to you! I'm excited to hear how God has changed your life for the good.
I know of a couple who has been married for 15 years or so. Every Thursday is there date day and that didn't change when they had kids. That really was inspiring for Trev and I. I am learning that I book up my calendar with so many other things and now I need to start booking time with God on there and with my husband.
