I'm at a table with 8 amazing ladies. Which I share SO much in common with. I hope I get the courage to build friendships out of this...which I am always so nervous making the first move..which I never used to be...but oh well.
The girls are adjusting well being seperated from each other, and making new friends in the rooms they are in. As well, they are adjusting to being away from me. Its different from having someone babysit them from our family, or having Katie babysit. They are in a room with completely new people, and a completely new surrounding. I took a Blue's Clue's video for Kaylee this week, as it may help her feel a little more comfortable. She is taking this the hardest..but when I pick her up, she seems to have enjoyed herself. The seniors that are watching the children are an AMAZING bunch of people. They are so caring, and want to be there playing with the kids. They even get right down on the floor and play with them..or help them with their puzzles, toys, drinks and snacks, etc.
Kaylee's group doesn't get to enjoy the benefits of craft time..instead they get to go to the gym for a longer period of time. MacKenzie's group also gets some gym time too. The best part of this is that they either come get you if there is a problem with your kid, or they bring the kid to you, OR if there is no problems, you actually get to have an adult conversation for 2 hours without being interuppted by your kids...SO nice...today I got to experience that. And I got to listen to the amazing speaker.
For this week's craft time, MacKenzie's group got to paint. Here is a picture of what she did
Last week, MacKenzie got to make an edible frootloop necklace.

Allison and I used to volunterr with Morning out for Mom's at Forest Grove. I guess that makes me a senior, LOL It was a fun two hours and yes the real "seniors" are members of the church and they are wonderful. It amazes me that they are so willing to spend a crazy and exhausting two hours with the children just to give mom's a break. But they truely love what they are doing. I have seen this first hand. I hope you meet lots of new friends and enjoy this special time out.
