Felt People

This is the project I've been working on for a little while. Below are pictures of my felt person and accessories. I am so excited about them. When I was little, my mom made my sister and I a felt board, with people, animals, shapes, numbers, etc. When I was going through her patterns (she kept them in a binder) I decided that I didn't like the felt people and started in search of a paper doll pattern that I could use for a felt pattern. Well I finally found one. The website I got this pattern from is www.makingfriends.com and then you click the paper doll link. Here you will find several differnt outfits, ect. to use with your paper doll. You can even print off the pattern in outline or color. So I printed almost 80 pages in outlines, and am well on my way to having a full wardrobe for my little felt person. It has outfits for all seasons, holidays, careers, and day to day clothes, and the list goes on. I am making this felt person(s) and felt board for the girls for Christmas. I've already tested it out on MacKenzie, and she loves dressing up her "baby". And this "baby" gan be of either gender, there is several hair patterns to make it a boy or a girl "baby", and there is clothes patterns for both boys and girls.

So for any moms who have lots of time on their hands, or like to be crafty, this is an excellent, simple, and very cheap project. Each sheet of colored felt is about $0.28 per sheet or 3 for $1.00. All I did was print off the pattern from the internet, cut it out, and draw the outline with a thin marker on the felt (which takes a little practice to keep it neat), then draw on the rest of the pattern, then cut out the felt.

Now some people have never heard of a felt board. So to briefly explain it, felt sticks to felt; it doesn't need tape, or velcro, or glue or anything. I haven't made the big board yet, but I was really excited about this person and the clothes. I think I have had more fun than MacKenzie has..lol. These two ^v are my absolute favorite outfits!

I painted the white on the coat. Felt doesn't stick to paint when you layer the clothes, so if you choose to paint your felt pieces, try to make sure its the top layer of clothing, i.e. the coat. I haven't finished painting the hat yet.



This is supposed to be an astronaut, but I forgot to make him a flag. My mom thought he looked like a scuba diver..lol

She even comes with an umbrella too..I forgot to put that in the picture.
